WHO WE ARE

WHAT WE DO
Our commitment is built on core pillars that bring together sport, safety and culture.
Freediving and diving
We organize freediving courses and training, as well as diving activities for all levels. Our teaching method combines technique with breath control and mental wellbeing.
Safety and continuous training
Safety is our top priority. We offer specific courses on sea safety and stay constantly updated on best practices and international standards.
Federal training (FIPSAS)
We actively collaborate with our federation, FIPSAS, to organize training courses for aspiring instructors and coaches, contributing to the growth of future professionals in the field.
Workshops and outreach
We regularly promote technical workshops and seminars to explore every aspect of aquatic disciplines. We firmly believe the marine environment can truly be protected through knowledge.
Events and territory
We create gathering spaces and creative initiatives to celebrate the Trieste area and give voice to those who experience the sea with respect and admiration.
YOUR GATEWAY TO THE UNDERWATER WORLD
La Parola del Mare Club is an amateur sports association based in Trieste, Italy, born from a visceral passion for the blue and for freediving disciplines. We’re not just a school, but a community of students and athletes who experience the sea as a space for exploration, personal growth and deep environmental respect.
We are deeply connected to our territory and to the Gulf of Trieste, a unique ecosystem we love to explore and share, promoting the beauty and biodiversity of our coast.

European Freediving Photography Award
The initiative
This contest was born to celebrate the sea through the photographic lens. We want to capture the moment when light breaks the surface and catches the silence of the depths and the pure emotion of those who dive on a single breath.
Why participate?
We’re not just looking for technical perfection, but for the story. We invite underwater photographers, freedivers and dreamers to share their interpretation of the sea’s “word”, that silent message the water whispers to those who know how to listen.
Our charity calendar
For two years, our Club has produced a calendar made entirely of underwater and freediving photographs, images of our Club and of the wider freediving community. It is distributed on a free-donation basis: everyone gives what they feel they can.
Every euro raised, the full amount, with no costs deducted, is donated to the Neonatology department of the IRCCS Materno Infantile Burlo Garofolo Hospital in Trieste. The European Freediving Photography Award® was born from the same spirit: photography as a way of giving back what the sea and the people around us give to us first.
